Tree Planting: SP
reported that she and JE walked around the Mesa with Jose Toribio to determine
locations for tree planting this year.
They met with Claus Boettger on lower Stardust. They recommended planting 3 oaks along lower
Stardust, 2 oaks and 1 citrus in the putting green park, and 6
oak/ash/eucalyptus in the pool area for a total cost of $1637. AC explained
that the budget has $12k for the year for tree replanting and trimming. The Board approved $1700 for the proposed
tree planting project.
Other: SP reported
that the steps at the bottom of the stairs down to the pool area needed to be
replaced. The cost of doing so with
railroad ties would be $900. The Board
approved the repair. SP reported that
the last house on lower Stardust had cut trees and dumped them onto Lot 93. The cost to clean up the debris is $220. The Association will charge the homeowner for
Jose to clean it up. SP reported that
Jose had quoted $880 to remove the junipers near the JPL driveway on Starlight
Crest and replant the area with apple greens.
The project was deferred to March.
SP reported that the broken lamp at the pool had been replaced. Glenn Cunningham
will fix the signs at the pool that were damaged in the recent winds. Several of the lamps in the putting green park
do not work. Board member Alex Benderskii
replaced them a couple of years ago, but the model he used has been discontinued
since then. AC noted that he has the same
model of lamp in front of his house and that is also does not work. GG asked how many people use the park at
night? The Board decided to defer replacing
these lamps for now.
New
JPL Survey:
GG reported that he and the Berrymans (and possibly other
Mesa residents) had received notice of another JPL boundary survey, this time
from the Bureau of Land Management.
Since the General Services Administration just completed a survey last
year, it isn’t clear why this new survey is being done now. He is trying to reach BLM.

operating account at the end of December 2016.
He will start tracking expenses against the budget. The Board then reviewed HOA dues delinquencies
and other legal matters in executive session.
