Welcome to the Starlight Mesa Homeowner’s Association’s Newsletter – a longtime tradition in the Mesa that is being revived.  It will be published frequently to let all our residents know of news and events in our Starlight Mesa community.  Your contributions and suggestions are always welcome.  Just send them to the Board of Governors at

Other avenues for news about the Mesa can be found on:

Pursuant to the directions of Los Angeles County and the City of La Canada-Flintridge, the Mesa parks, the pool, the tennis court and the restrooms are closed.  Please observe these temporary restrictions in order to keep us all safe from spread of the novel coronavirus.

When walking your dog in the Mesa, please keep the dog on-leash and pickup after the dog at all times, even on the undeveloped hillsides.

Thank you very much for observing the “social distancing” requirement of at least a 6-foot separation with other persons (outside of your family group) and using a cloth mask when you may come in close contact with neighbors for the health and safety of all us.

Reservations for group use of the pool and parks are temporarily suspended while these areas are closed.  After the are reopened, you can make a reservation by filling out the Party Reservation Form found on the Mesa website where a list of the current reservations will be posted.

The basketball court in the lower Mesa playground is being upgraded with a new hoop and repainting of the court lines.  The tennis court fence is being repaired and the damaged gate lock replaced (with the same key as previously issued to Homeowners).

The annual clearing of brush and weeds for fire protection on the Mesa’s hillsides is underway.

If you have special requests for front yard maintenance or you observe other situations requiring maintenance by the Homeowners Association, please direct your request to our management company, Cardinal Management, at 323-349-0865 or

Recall that at the last Annual Meeting of the Association, only three Board of Governors were elected (out of the five required by the CC&Rs).  Recently, Board secretary, Gregory Goeckner, resigned due to business pressures, and Glenn Cunningham, a 41-year resident of the Mesa and three-time former Board member, was appointed to replace him.  Goeckner will continue to support Mesa projects later in the year.  We thank him for his many years of service to our community as a Board member.

We continue to encourage two other members of the community to voluntary a little of their time to support our neighbors as additional members of the Board of Governors.  There is a description of a Board member’s responsibilities on the Mesa website, and this link gives you a little encouragement to become a member.  Please consider it as a gift to all your neighbors.  Please let us know if you would like to participate by leaving a note at
